Tea Party Cupcake

Description

Fondant miniatures are probably one of the hardest sugarcrafts to make (along with animals and humans). This was one of the most challenging designs in Ann Nicol's book. The hardest part was making and fixing the handles of the teacup and teapot, which were notoriously fragile and very hard to stick to the wares. Food-grade gold paint is expensive, but I found that pure yellow gel food color works as a good substitute. The whole thing took around two hours to make (excluding fondant and cupcake preparation).

Design based from a model from the book "Sugarcraft: Creative and Practical Projects" by Ann Nicol:

Jeez, must have been an awful lot of work. Looks delicate, way too good to be eaten.
